Our teak tubs are hand crafted in Denmark in the highest standard of the cooperage tradition (ancient wood crafting method), which has been used for many generations in Europe. The superior workmanship of the teak tub consists of all solid teak blocks, which have been kiln dried for about 6 months to achieve a very low moisture level of only 10%. This way every top is unique and "one of a kind". Take a look at how our products are made.
Why is low moisture content important for the teaktub? Because the wood will not warp, expand or shrink due to changes in the environment such as heat, cold or high humidity. Teak is the preferred wood species in boat manufacturing for this very reason as it can withstand severe wind and weather conditions.
The teak blocks are assembled without glue and are held together only by using brass or stainless steel strips. The only adhesive is an invisible rubber substance commonly used in the boat building industry. Each of the solid teak blocks are locked together in an inter-locking system. This production method combined with the high natural oil content of the teak wood has proved to be superior and will prevent the tub from leaking and drying out.
Your teak tub can be used indoors as well as outdoors. It is available in many different sizes (please see the specification page). In addition we offer custom sizes to accommodate the dimensions of your bathroom. You may also order your bathtub in other wood species. Just contact us with your inquiries.
